THE SIM

It is a Frasca 142 equipped with HSI. This is a twin engine FTD with very realistic one-engine out characteristics. Flightmodels of a Seneca, Seminole, Baron and Cessna310 are included.

Compared to the well-known AST-300, the Frasca is a lot more reliable (maintenance), apart from the fact that it uses specific flight models. The device has only about 1900 hours (and before we started using it, it has always been operated under supervision of one and the same instructor/examiner!), therefore we can safely say that it is in prime condition.

As you can see on the pictures, the instructor station operates under DOS, with easy-to-use menu's (weather, failures, weight & balance, position,…) and completely the same functionality as the new windows-based stations. The plotter provides you at any time with the graphical info on your position and the accuracy of the flown procedures. (Very useful for the flightmate/instructor when giving radar vectors.)

And, last but not least: this one was also used to conduct real simchecks for assessment on application for a European airline, which proves that there is no doubt about the usefulness and the realism of the sim.
